Rating: 3/5 I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion. I was really intrigued by this book, because I love anything to do with music, and this was a concept I'd never heard of before. However, I didn't end up enjoying it as much as I thought I would. For me, it wasn't panned out well enough, and I felt that too many secondary characters were introduced throughout the story and were never properly fleshed out or made real. I did enjoy the family element to the story, and it was never bad, but I think I just wanted it to be better. The Doubt Factory by Paolo Bacigalupi Publisher/Year: April 7th 2016 Atom Source/Format: e-arc | NetGalley (Thanks NetGalley/Atom!) Rating: 2/5 I received this book from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This in no way affects my opinion. I had heard good things abut the author, so going into this book I had decent expectations, and sadly I was left disappointed at the end. Although thrillers aren't really my thing I did find it actually being the best thing about the book, because for me the characters certainly weren't. From the beginning, Alix annoyed me - her immediate obsession with this idiot that punches teachers and "smiles at her" just showed her to be nothing more than a spoiled brat that loves to rebel against her dad.
